Boxcar 2.0, the major update to this excellent app that delivers push notifications for Twitter, Facebook, and any email account, is now in the app store (link).

If you are a current user, the update is free, and includes the use of one push service – either Twitter notifications, Facebook notifications, or email notifications. To add an additional service, Boxcar uses in-app purchase function to charge a one-time 0.79€ fee for each additional service you desire.

Ever wished to get push notifications for your facebook messages or your twitter account?
I’ve been using Boxcar for a while now, it’s the best app for pushing my Twitter direct messages and mentions. The soon to be released version 2.0 will also push from Facebook, and one complaint I had about 1.0 has been addressed: you can finally choose a different sound-notification then the standard sms sound.

Today by accident I found out a hidden feature: in Facebook press and hold for a few seconds and the icons will start to wiggle just like on the homescreen so you can rearrange the main screen as you like it. I would suggest rearranging it just like mine for a better experience:

Quick post to report (in case you didn’t notice yet) that Facebook for iPhone has been updated to version 3.0.1.
This release fixes some bugs users were experiencing and we can say it has quickly passed the approval process. We’re all happy about this, what a lovely way to start the week.

Joe Hewitt, developer of the most famous iPhone app ever, says that the 8-year-old birthday bug affects only non-English users. The problem has been fixed and the update to 3.01 is on it’s way.

Do I need to say more? The app looks and works fantastic! Exept a few crashing I experienced and a bug in the birthday (all my contacts have their birthday on the 8 of January.
