I own a Mophie JuicePack Air, it’s a great case that ads some bulk but doubles my battery-lifetime. That’s a constraint I’m willing to deal with. Actually, many people saw my iPhone + Juice Pack and didn’t even notice it was an external battery pack. Anyway now that I’m on a holiday the case has become quite useful since I spend my day walking around the island without having any plug available during the day.

The downside, the added bulk makes my iPhone fat….too fat to fit in a holster of some kind.mophie side

Mophie has developed a set of one size fits all leather holsters for the Mophie Juice Packs. You can fit the whole juice pack (iPhone, too) into the holster and carry the whole package around on your belt. There are three different types: the 5000 is a square holster that doesn’t show the screen, the 5500 shows the screen, and the 6000 is a more rounded version of the 5500. I’m not really sure why the model names are numbers, but I’m sure avid Mophie users will be happy for the extra options.

You can pre-order your holster for $30 at Mophie.com.

Well some of us love ‘em (I certainly do) others hate them. The iPhone sure has a slick design, very classy etc…and that’s the way Apple wants us to have it. But how concerned are we when that slick device slips your hands and smashes on the floor?

Protection sure is a good reason for wrapping your  iToy but I have other motivations to own several cases. Some look the business, others are better suited for sports etc…And what about customisation? Who wants a phone that looks just like milion of others out there in the wild.

How do you feel about cases?

Do you use a case to protect your iPhone?

One week ago I received some ION Carbon cases in different colors. This is a high-end leather case that gives full-protection to your phone and a nice warm grip while holding it. It does ad some bulk but the case easely fit into my tight jeans back pocket. I tested the white one, orange and the black. They also have a grey velvet version that I will test sometimes next week.
It’s a sweet looking case. The original colors change from the comon black leather cases you see permanently.
I paid more or less 60€ each, it’s a bit of a steep price for a case but well spent if you’re looking for good protection that doesn’t look cheap.
The delivery was quite fast, on average it took 4 working days to get to me and 7$ for shipping that fast from hong-kong is a steal. I buy constantly online and nowhere I got that low shipping fees.
I had one issue with the white one. The leather isn’t prewaxed like the other colors in order to be as white as possible (by waxing, white turns to pearl). Unfortunatly my jeans inside pocket has teinted on the case. It bothered me I had to clean it daily, unlike the orange one or the black one.
I reported this issue to their customer care and never ever I got such a reactive response ever in my life before. They answered to my mails almost instantly all around the clock. They agreed to swap the white one with either a prewaxed version or a darker color. Customer satisfaction seems to be their priority. That’s where I say Kudos to you ION-Factory .

People who know me, know I love cases. As a matter of fact I own, at this time, about 7 different ones, one for every occasion. I love the fact they give my phone a new, fresh look…Plus protection is important (always wear protection, peeps ;-) . I was looking for a case that is not a flip case (love my Vaja case), no silicon, because they tend to get sluggish after time and no slippery hardcase that would break anyway in case of a brutal fall. After browsing my a$$ off, I found my holy grail. I will post an unboxing and hands-on review when it gets here.
