So you bought that marvelous case, all leather and diamonds… To discover that your iPhone doesn’t fit in the dock anymore?

Well, this happened to me when I decided to switch from one of the marvelous Gelaskins (in the store btw) to the precious and super resistant ION-Carbon case. This case is awesome (got the black one) but I was soon fed up of having to take my phone out of it every night going to bed (no, I don’t sleep with my iPhone, I put it to charge on its dock, next to my bed).

Today decided to google for some dock-friendly cases… There is one that I found but didn’t like it, so continued my search, till I found:

SendStation Dock Extender.

How clever is this? Nice! With this little connector I don’t have to remove the phone from the dock anymore. Great!

Well, something that isn’t that great on the other hand… Is that 1) The two metal legs in the picture don’t fit all the docks and sometimes need to be removed. 2) The price: 28.95Euros + shipping!!!

I ordered one, will keep you posted.

I’m still looking for the perfect solution to place calls while driving and I tried quite a few. At first I tought that a built-in all-in-one solution would be the best choice yet the most expensive one. So I bought a cd/DVD/mp3 player with GPS and BT handsfree, A2DP audio streaming, USB plug blabla..Sounded great on paper, not so much in real life. The problem is the mic is somewhere near my gearstick and no one could ever here me when I was on a highway without having me scream my guts out. So I switched to an earpiece. Lost 3 of them and when I needed them they ran out of juice.
Recently I bought this piece here: the supertooth one.
My expections were near null at that point and I tried it. It’s a speaker/mic set on top of my windshield (very close to my face). I could here perfectly loud and clear, so at the other hand. Perfect for calls.
Today I was driving north so I turned on the GPS (Navigon) and to my big surprise, the vocal instructions came out of the supertooth meaning that it support audiostreaming via A2DP (your iPod music, podcasts, gps etc). Impressive how a 60€ device beats the sh$t out of my 1500€ all-in-one solution. Defenetly a keeper.

People who know me, know I love cases. As a matter of fact I own, at this time, about 7 different ones, one for every occasion. I love the fact they give my phone a new, fresh look…Plus protection is important (always wear protection, peeps . I was looking for a case that is not a flip case (love my Vaja case), no silicon, because they tend to get sluggish after time and no slippery hardcase that would break anyway in case of a brutal fall. After browsing my a$$ off, I found my holy grail. I will post an unboxing and hands-on review when it gets here.
