Today Vox switches to Orange. Say goodbye to Vox, welcome Orange!

Was curious to see if anything changed a part from the website. Said to myself that most probably would have a been a bit too soon to see changes in their offers. How wrong was I… They did change their iPhone offers. Not only changed, they improved them a lot!

Look here below:

Orange_iPhone_OfferThe basic iPhone package gets 75 minutes of free calls to Europe a month! The 50Euro/month iPhone package gets 150 minutes a month of free calls to Europe and the 75Euro a month package gets a whopping amount of 200 minutes a month of free calls to Europe.

A lot of people here in Luxembourg have family/friends abroad. I guess this change will be pretty much appreciated by a lot of customers. Went rapidly to check if Luxgsm or Tango had anything similar in their offers but still not.  I shall say:” Welcome Orange!”

Maybe this will relaunch a bit the race between our three iPhone providers.

I invite you to go to check their entire site for the full details of their offers.

Luxembourg can already count on some local and specific apps. That’s nice already…

What’s even nicer is when one of our favourite applications announces an update. Yes, Yellow has published an update to the AppStore for approval! That’s not it, we from LuxiPhone will be able to get a full hands-on preview beforehand!

Here is it how it looks right now:

yellow_iphoneThat’s the way it looks now….and I guess soon we can reveal all the improvements exclusively here

What? Are you that one person who doesn’t have yellow.lu on their iPhone? Thank God we make your life easier..get it right here

(Thanks to Yellow for the info an the pic!)

It’s a matter of days now, the new and shiny LuxiPhone app will be ready for Beta testing. We still need to polish a few things, make it even nicer, iron out a few bugs and then it’ll be ready for you to test it before it goes to the Appstore for approval.

So, in case you’re willing to give it a try before it even reaches the Appstore and maybe help us doing some testing, we’ll be more than happy to provide you with a beta version of the application. Installing “official betas” on the iPhone is both easy and not easy. In order to be able to beta test “unreleased” apps the developers need to include you in a list of authorised users. No personal information is actually needed, nothing that could allow us to know your bank account or credit card number. We only need the UDID of your iPhone. What is the UDID? It’s a huge “number” that uniquely identifies your iPhone in the whole universe, even if an alien has an iPhone, it must have a different UDID. Finding the UDID can be done in various ways but the simplest are via XCode and “Adhoc Helper” (Thanks to Erica Sadun). Check for “Adhoc Helper” in the Appstore, it’s free, install it and send us the email it generates. Send the email to info@luxiphone.lu and we’ll mail you the step by step guide once the application will be ready. We’re waiting for your emails!

Just to show you that here at LuxiPhone we do try to give the best, here is an Alpha, ugly, just for test (could go on this way for a long time) version of the long awaited (really?) LuxiPhone application!

luxi1luxi2

Looks ugly, I know and lot of work has still to be done.

Anyhow, the aim of this application is to give you a direct access to LuxiPhone’s content. No more web pages loading (unless you really want to), straight to the headlines via a simple and typical “iPhonesque” interface.

Other features will be added and it’ll still take some time before you’ll be able to see (and download) it from the AppStore, but we thought to share with you our plans. We’ll be posting screenshots as the development goes on and please… Don’t hesitate posting your ideas, critics and suggestions, as this application is for you.

Rockstar games, famous for GTA (if you didn’t know that, what planet were you living in the past X years?) “says” this fall we’ll be able to play one of the most famous titles ever made, on our iPhone: GTA. The version to be released is GTA Chinatown Wars, which has already been ported to various platforms, including the Nintendo DS (with quite some success). Another title to be released is Beaterator. Some kind of Beat Machine. Personally, the beat machine, although it could be nice, won’t get me to stay awake till fall, but GTA definitely will. When such big titles get ported… Want a sign of success bigger than that?
