Lumines finally released with lite version

We’ve known for quite some time now that a Lumines port for the iPhone was in the works, and with the flurry of releases lately it likely slipped to the back of everyone’s mind. Tonight LUMINES – Touch Fusion [App Store] appeared for download along with an associated lite version, and so far the reaction in our forums has been all over the place.

The game is completely Lumines, with everything from flashy visual flare to the signature Lumines soundtrack. If you’re unfamilar with the series, here are the basics:

Gameloft hasn’t had a week without a release lately and this one I was really looking forward to. At this rythm “Gameloft” will become a category on it’s own. I’m a huge fan and this is a “Baldur’s Gate” role playing game clone. I don’t mind Gameloft cloning all major game-styles and renders them playable on a phone. This is a short clip from one of the upcoming games from Tapulous (Tap Tap Revenge) that has been presented on the 9.9.9 event. I think this is one of those original concepts that can only work on an iPhone. The idea is far-catched but seems to reinvent the genre : rythm game meets racing game. It’s like if Guitar Hero and Wipeout had a baby, well Riddim Ribbon would be the result.

Soon this blog will be Gameloft exclusive. Almost daily they have some great news. After two huge successes like Gang$tar (GTA-like) and recently the excellent Sandstorm (Call of Duty like) and the soon to come Dungeons Hunter (RPG), Gameloft announced a Soul Calibur-like called Blades of Fury. This is by far the most anticipated game I can’t wait to put my (big) fingers on..enjoy the screenshots. Of course we’ll keep you posted of any evolution of this game.
