One accessory 100% made in Luxembourg finally hits the shelves. Yes, our ViKaSkins are going retail trough Orange. Obviously only the standard skins. For a custom skin with your own design, you still have to order them online here.

But still, it’s nice to see a big name like Orange selling a local accessory.

You know how rumours work? They are contagious, as soon as something appears somewhere, everybody talks about it.

The rumor we bring you today is… A new device from Apple. What? This isn’t new? You already heard this one? Well, actually this time to back it up (and increase its credibility, somehow) there is an image taken from a Chinese website. Here it is, for your curious eyes:

iphone_4g_sim_tray1-540x343
What you can see in this post is a SIM Tray. A tray labelled as “iPhone 4 generation / iTabled SIM Tray”, supposedly made to fit a device we don’t know yet about. The Chinese website let’s his customers order it, most probably as spare parts, in case you lost it. Well, for the moment we only know where to find the tray if lost, it’s the device itself that we don’t know where to find ;)

Let’s see how this rumor develops…

There are people that just can’t stop having ideas, some even very good, or so simple that you say:”Why didn’t I think about it???”

When you are Jack Dorseay (co-founder of Twitter) then your mind must be filled with good ideas. With his new company called Square he developed the Square iPhone Payment System. A tiny cube to be mounted on the headphone jack (iPhone and iPod Touch) and a software to be installed (to make the little cube card reader work) that will allow to accept credit card payment by swiping the card in the reader.

How clever?!?

Can you imagine people travelling around with a payment system in their pockets? Shops where any employee can accept your payment wherever you are without having to queue? That sounds pretty good to me…

Great new skin for your iPhone, courtesy of ViKaSkins . I saw this skin once made by some japanese nerd, and was dying to get it, but there was no way to find a reseller. So I undusted my Illustrator box and laid hands on it myself. Have a look. I think it tops my expectations. Of course you can get yours at vikaskins.lu :

Otterbox is well known for their very rough, water-resisstant cases. Those were very bulky and rather suited for outdoor sports, fishing, beach, you name it.otterbox-commuter-iPhone-case-1_m

Now they’re presenting a new breed that seems to be more mainstream. They offer 7 different colors and expect me to buy at least 2 of them :-) .

All in all, I think they totally look cooler and knowing their expertise in the shockproof area, I bet they totally have a huge production value.

There is a brand quite famous in the Mac scene for it’s video products. I’m talking about ElGato (which means “the cat” in Spanish, btw).

They do some nice kits either to watch tv on your Mac or encode/transcode videos. I know Vitovox, for example, is fond of their products. So, if you’re already using an EyeTV on your Mac, why don’t you start watching live and recorded tv on your iPhone?

This is not for the faint of heart. iWood carves wood into cases for the iPhone. Expect your case to take 4 weeks before being ready. All this handcraft has a price ranging from 80€ to 140€ (glup). You can even engrave a monogram, message or your logo into the case. It is a steep price but at least you get free shipping and the engraving is free as well (not sure if I should say “thank you”).

I ordered the highend Cobra in Wengé/Maple for 140€. It’s probably the only case where you care more about the case then the phone itself in case of a drop… So now I just need to find a silicon case big enough to put over the iWood.

Get your iWood here
